We are all familiar with the adage that time is money in business scenarios. The preciousness of time when seen in perspective with one’s lifetime was taken for granted by me until I reached the age of 38. On a summer evening on April 9th, 2008, I was involved in a high speed car-truck collision on the National highway at the border of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu states in South India. It was a brilliant miracle that I escaped unhurt in that collision. I was probably just nanoseconds away from making the ‘return journey’ from this planet.
It took some time for me to recover from the trauma. That experience taught me the value of life. From that day onwards, I have reset my life clock and view it as my ‘re-birthday’ of my life. As we grow older by a day, the value of each remaining day in our lifetime becomes more precious. If we can remember this value of life in every waking moment, then our focus towards meaningful pursuits becomes unwavering.
