I can never forget his college championship final match in Dharwad, South India decades ago, which he won. His abundant patience in slowly wearing down his aggressive opponent was a treat to watch. The icing on the cake was his sportsmanship while he acknowledged his opponent’s winning points at some tense moments in the match. He displayed these qualities irrespective of the type of match or sport. The ultimate beauty was that he applied the same qualities with aplomb in his personal and professional lives.
