There is one subtle faculty in human beings which is known by 2 names indicating the different functions. It is known as mind when it feels the emotions. When it thinks for decision making, it is referred to as intellect. In common parlance, the mind and intellect are known as the heart and the head respectively.
Intellect is a subtler instrument just like the mind, when compared to element # 1, which was discussed in my previous blogs. While the mind is subjected to likes and dislikes, Intellect discriminates between right and wrong. The intellectual abilities can be associated with innovation, creativity, imagination, discovery and visualization.
Our life’s journey will be purposeful when the Intellect acts as a ‘driver’ and governs the mind.
Our life’s journey will be meaningless when the mind acts according to likes and dislikes, ignoring the voice of the intellect.
