Understand the difference: ‘Become’ v. ‘Discover’

(2 minute Read)

I have referred to a term “…potential to become an author.” in the Acknowledgements section of the book. Initially, I was thinking of adding on something to ‘become’ an author. I was looking in vain for some external inputs to facilitate this process. The process of becoming someone other than me involved lot of stress and anxiety.

Since 2018, I started blogging consistently. I gradually realized that I had the desire, skill and potential to ‘discover’ an author within me. It was a massive paradigm shift in my thinking and writing approach. Focus was more on removing unwanted notions, getting critical feedback on my writing skills and looking from a reader’s perspective. The process of discovering was truly rewarding. It has minimal stress and anxiety.

Value of Life in this Planet

(2 minute Read)

We are all familiar with the adage that time is money in business scenarios. The preciousness of time when seen in perspective with one’s lifetime was taken for granted by me until I reached the age of 38. On a summer evening on April 9th, 2008, I was involved in a high speed car-truck collision on the National highway at the border of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu states in South India. It was a brilliant miracle that I escaped unhurt in that collision. I was probably just nanoseconds away from making the ‘return journey’ from this planet.

It took some time for me to recover from the trauma. That experience taught me the value of life. From that day onwards, I have reset my life clock and view it as my ‘re-birthday’ of my life. As we grow older by a day, the value of each remaining day in our lifetime becomes more precious. If we can remember this value of life in every waking moment, then our focus towards meaningful pursuits becomes unwavering.

Elements of FRIDAY GYAAN

(1 minute Read)

The FRIDAY GYAAN book is structured around 3 key elements:

First element: 108 Gyaan Nuggets

Each Gyaan Nugget has deep insights. If it is read superficially, the reader will get to know authentic facts about a worldly phenomenon. If it is reflected intensely correlating with one’s own experience, the readers can extract new meanings, every time they read the book.

Second element: 6 Chapters

The Gyaan Nuggets have been grouped under diverse topics ranging from Arts to Travel. This is to signify that one can keep ‘milking’ new insights in any field of experience under the sun. The way we observe and listen is the most important aspect.

Third element: 6 ‘Points to Ponder’ sections

This section is given basically to summarize the 18 Gyaan Nuggets in a chapter. This section provides guidelines to open up the reader’s thinking process and help them to consolidate the learnings from each chapter before moving to the next one.

While reading the book, reap the benefits by implementing the success tips given for each of the 3 steps and be aware of the hurdles along the way.

Understanding the Tagline – ASSIMILATE

(1 minute Read)

From the Author’s Desk …

ASSIMILATE: This is the last step in which the lessons learned after reflection need to be internalized. Our intentions, words and actions are the outputs with which we transact with the people and objects around. The absence of a full stop in the tagline signifies that it has to be endless.

Success Tip # 1: Start hitting quick wins, every day. Never wait for an auspicious moment to trigger the small changes.

Success Tip # 2: Be disciplined to sustain the quick wins.

Prime Hurdle: Lack of willingness to make changes.

We need to ring the changes in our efforts to obtain better results.
